Cybersecurity Risks in U.S. and Latin America Expected to Grow in 2026

⚡ Weekend Threat Brief
Italian Cybersecurity Startup Raises €100M for Device Security
Exein SpA, a cybersecurity company in Rome, raised €100 million in new funding. The investment, led by Blue Cloud Ventures with help from firms including J.P. Morgan, aims to grow the company’s presence outside Europe and accelerate acquisitions. Exein builds software that runs inside connected devices to detect and stop attacks in real time. The funding reflects strong investor interest in protecting the many internet-connected products in use today.
Takeaway: Large funding rounds for device-level security firms show that attacks on connected products are now a top concern for investors, manufacturers, and regulators, not just IT teams.

ISACA Gets New Global Role for CMMC Certification
ISACA will now train and certify professionals, assessors, and instructors under the U.S. Department of War’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program. This role makes ISACA the official global credentialing authority for CMMC, a framework designed to protect sensitive information across defense supply chains. The phased rollout of CMMC compliance started in November 2025 and continues through 2028.
Tactical tip: CMMC compliance is moving from guidance to formal oversight, and organizations in the defense supply chain will need certified professionals sooner rather than later to meet U.S. government security requirements.

Cybersecurity Risks in U.S. and Latin America Expected to Grow in 2026

A new report shows cybersecurity is now a major strategic risk for businesses in both the United States and Latin America. As online commerce expands and AI tools are more widely used, the volume of cyberattacks and fraud has risen sharply. In the U.S., damage from cybercrime reached an all-time high in 2024, with fraud and identity attacks hitting key commercial platforms. Latin American markets also face high exposure as companies adopt more online systems. The trend points to continued pressure on business security practices in 2026.
🧩 Tool Tip of the Week
Email Protection With Guardz
Guardz is an email security tool that filters harmful messages before they reach a user’s inbox. Use Guardz to block phishing, malware, and spoofed messages at the gateway level. It checks message headers and content against known threat lists and applies policies based on sender reputation. This reduces the risk of scams and infected attachments reaching employees. For better protection, pair Guardz with email authentication standards such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
